Endowment Grant

    First United Methodist ChurchPermanent Endowment CommitteeGrant Proposal GuidelinesIntroduction:The Annual Church Conference of the Hays First United Methodist Church approved, in 2013, a grant program supported by the Permanent Endowment Funds to address either (1) physical facility needs or (2) programmatic initiatives that will further the ministries of the Hays United Methodist Church.

The Endowment Committee guidelines state that monies will be used to address problems and opportunities that are either not funded or are underfunded in the annual church budget.

 
The Committee has allocated up to $40,000 to fund such proposals in 2018. Proposals may be submitted by any of the following FUMC committees: 

• Church and Society
• Missions
• Trustees 
• Council on Ministries  
• Worship/Music 
• Membership  
• Finance   
• Staff-Parish Relations  
• Education (UMYF, Kids Club, etc.)  
• UMW, UMM Grants will be developed through one or more church committee(s) which will assume administrative responsibility for each funded proposal. However, the idea for a proposed initiative may originate with one or more church members and then be developed in consultation with an appropriate church committee.  Thus, the final proposal will be sponsored by an appropriate committee and that committee will be responsible for supervising the work plan, expenditures and the evaluation of the project upon completion.
