We gather each Wednesday to worship together. We begin at 5:00 pm with a come and go meal. At 5:50 we worship in the sanctuary with our Youth Prayze Band. Then at 6:15 we offer programming for all ages.
The mitten trees are now up in the parlor. Please bring mittens, scarves, hats, earmuffs, etc. and place them on the trees. All items will be taken to USD 489 for the children who often come to school without these items. Blessings to all who share in this mission community outreach project. All items need to be placed on the trees before November 17.
Hays FUMC Night @ Pa’s Pumpkin Patch! Wednesday, October 23 from 5-7 @ Copper’s Farm: 978 250th Avenue. Hot dogs, chips and water provided by the Education Team. Bring money for a pumpkin or two, s’mores kits or popcorn balls. Hayrack rides, corn maze and bouncing pillow all free of charge for our church members that evening! Thank you Copper Family.
Trunk or Treat—Wednesday, October 30 from 5:30-7 in the north parking lot. No WOW meal that evening so bring your lawn chair, or better yet, sign up a trunk and hand out treats to the 200 estimated trick-or-treaters that attend this community outreach event hosted by our church! If you can’t be there, we are also taking donations for candy that will help refill trunks as needed. Any remaining candy will be donated to the military.
On October 20, the Missions Committee invites you to participate in a mission outreach event. On that Sunday, there will be packets available at both worship services. Please take one or more and fill the bag with items listed in the packet. The hygiene kits will then go wherever they are needed. We are setting a goal of 1000 bags to be filled by October 27. At that time, you will return the hygiene kits to the church, and they will be blessed during the worship service. We hope that filling the bags will be a meaningful activity for all the families in the church. It is a good project to use to teach children and youth about service to others. Thank you for your help with this mission outreach project.
Xander Swayne is asking his church family for help. In order to fulfill a class assignment for Building Effective Work Team this semester, his group is organizing a food drive to help children and families in need for Thanksgiving. He will be picking up all donations the weekend of November 16-17 in order for his team to take inventory of items and make sure they are delivered in time for the holiday. There will be a collection tub in the Welcome Center for all donations. Thank you!
Christmas CD’s by Max Haverfield available in the church office.
